Animal Sanctuary in Illinois

Wedrose Acres is an animal sanctuary located in Gridley, Illinois. We are dedicated to providing a natural animal sanctuary for wildlife and the prevention of cruelty to animals.

We support the prevention of cruelty for all animals, and proudly provide a tranquil sanctuary to both farm animals and wildlife, as well as rescued dogs and cats. At Wedrose Acres, visitors interact up close with our pigs, alpacas, llamas, horses, donkeys, goats, turkeys, geese, sheep, dogs, cats, and our cow, as well as appreciate the beauty of the expansive Illinois countryside, delicate wild flowers, striking waterfowl, curious raccoons, and other wildlife.

Come join us for one of our vegan potlucks, a day of volunteering, or a animal sanctuary in Illinois, and have the rare opportunity to meet a wide range of rescued animals!

Our purpose is to serve as an exclusively charitable and educational organization.

Sanctuary visits & tours will be closed during December – March as the residents hunker down for winter!

Schedule a private tour of Wedrose Acres and spend quality one-on-one time with the animals. Hear in-depth stories about our brave residents and their astonishing rescue stories, stroll the gorgeous sanctuary grounds, and share a delicious vanilla cookie snack with your favorite animals. Not to mention once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities of you hugging a friendly alpaca and kissing an adorable donkey!

Volunteer with Us

The Wedrose family LOVES volunteers! Come spend a day at our animal sanctuary in Illinois and experience just how rewarding it is to help care for these lovable animals. Help us maintain our grounds and pamper our residents, and in exchange we can almost guarantee a kiss from Little Gary the Llama-Alpaca. We are funded purely by donations and appreciate any help we can get. 100% of your donations will go towards maintaining our sanctuary and caring for the rescued animals that live here, providing them with food, veterinary care, grooming, and proper shelter.
