Vegan Counselor and Therapist in Sheffield

Hi, I’m Jen– a therapist based in Sheffield. I offer Gestalt psychotherapy to adults on a short or long term basis.

I have expertise in working with trauma and a socially-engaged, holistic approach. I also facilitate workshops on mental health, creativity and emotional well-being.

I am a full clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), accredited as a Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.

If you are interested in starting therapy, I have several information pages where you can learn more about  Gestalt Therapy, my background and experience and how I can help.If there is anything else you’d like to know about working with me, please get in touch.

Location

I am based in the Nether Edge (S7) area of Sheffield, in a dedicated therapeutic space which is comfortable, spacious and private.

My Nether Edge therapy room is connected to the City Centre by a main bus route (No. 56) and there is plenty of free parking in nearby streets. Unfortunately, the room does not have disabled access.

Online & Phone Therapy

I also offer online and telephone therapy for clients who live outside of Sheffield, or who simply prefer these formats.

I trained in remote therapy as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have completed an assessed 80-hour training mapped to competencies laid out by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, as well as a range of specialist training in working with trauma online.

Since then I have offered online and phone therapy as part of my work at Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (SRASAC) as well as with private therapy clients.

Please note I am only insured to work remotely with clients who are resident in the UK.

Availability

My working days are Monday and Tuesday. I offer daytime and evening appointments, including early morning slots for people wanting to fit therapy around their working hours.

I see most clients on an ongoing, weekly basis and am available for both short and long term therapy in Sheffield.

I work exclusively with adults on a 1-1 basis, and currently do not offer psychotherapy for children, couples or families.

Fees

Therapy costs £50 per session for face-to-face, phone and online appointments.

Concession rates are available for full-time students, trainee counsellors/therapists and those experiencing financial hardship. I review my prices annually.

Training and Professional Memberships

I am a full clinical member of the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP).

My training in Gestalt Psychotherapy has been through the postgraduate diploma training programme at GPTI (Gestalt Psychotherapy Training Institute). I have a range of other qualifications and current professional memberships. To learn more about my background, training and experience, please check out my about page.

As required by my professional body, I am in ongoing clinical supervision with a UKCP registered supervisor.

I am fully insured and DBS cleared.

Connect with Me

UPDATE April 2022: Please note that my waiting list is full. I am not accepting new clients or enquiries at this time, or able to help suggest alternative therapists or services.

I offer a free phone consultation for up to 20 minutes, where we can get a sense of each other, talk about your hopes for therapy and consider if my approach is right for you. If so, we would then arrange an initial appointment to discuss in more detail what is bringing you to therapy and agree on some goals / a rough timeline for our work together.

Choosing a therapist is a big decision, and so I’m always happy if you want to speak with a range of therapists before deciding on who is the best fit for you.
