A Warm Place

I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with 7 years experience in both counselling and hypnotherapy.

Does life sometimes feel like a struggle? I can support you if you would like to explore your thoughts and feelings, to be treated with warmth and empathy, and be really listened to without judgement or to be supported in helping you resolve your problems.

Counselling can help with any situation which has led you to feel anxious, sad, stressed or frustrated. It can help you to see things from another perspective and help you find solutions for your worries.

I have helped and supported clients with the following issues in the past: abuse, trauma, bullying, stress and anxiety, depression, work-related issues, infertility and miscarriage, eating disorders, relationships, domestic violence, parenting, OCD, suicidal thoughts and many other issues as well. I also have personal experience of parenting children with Autism.

Due to COVID-19, I am currently accepting online and telephone bookings ONLY.

Counselling and Psychotherapy

Does life sometimes feel like a struggle?

Would you like to:
• Explore your thoughts and feelings?
• Be treated with warmth and empathy and be really listened to without judgement?
• Be supported in helping you resolve your problems?

My name is Debra Welsh and I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor. Counselling can help with any situation which has led you to feel anxious, sad, stressed or frustrated. It can help you to see things from another perspective and help you find solutions for your worries.

Although my style is mainly person-centred I do use an integrative approach in my therapy which basically means that I draw on the different theories and techniques that I have been formally trained in to allow me to tailor your therapy uniquely to you.

This is YOUR therapy and our relationship exists solely for YOUR benefit!

Hypnotherapy

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a common and natural state of mind, and most people spend a lot of time in hypnosis or a trance state during the day without even realising it. As an example, when you are fully engrossed in a book or a film, or have driven to work and cannot remember part of your journey, these are all examples of you being in a natural state of hypnosis.

Hypnotherapists use it as a way of making contact with a person’s unconscious mind in order to bring about some form of change or healing. While under hypnosis you are fully aware and in control but in a very focused and relaxed state.

Hypnosis can be used to help treat a huge range of problems and issues such as: pain relief, weight control, insomnia, anxiety and panic attacks, phobias, performance, exam and sporting nerves, quitting smoking, childbirth and so much more besides.

When fully relaxed and under hypnosis, I will give you suggestions which are received by your subconscious mind which will replace current undesirable thought and behaviours. Hypnotherapy is natural and safe and has no harmful side effects.
