Thank you for browsing our products, believing in our company, and supporting our small, family business! We absolutely wouldn’t be here without you and we are so grateful for your investment in our lives! I invite you to click on my links and check out the ingredients and fragrance notes. My soaps are all handmade by me in small batches and are 100% Vegan and 100% Nut Free. I’m proud to say the ingredients I use are also 100% cruelty free and are responsibly sourced.
Almost all of our body products are soy free, sulfate(SLS) free, paraben free, gluten free, and vegan friendly. Exceptions will be clearly noted on listings for your convenience. Our soaps are made using organic RSPO certified palm oil, biodegradable glitters, responsibly sourced micas, and we use coconut oil in all our artisan bars, unless otherwise stated.
Our soaps are formulated to have a happy balance of lather and conditioning.
The ultimate goal is to cleanse the skin, but we also want to avoid over stripping the skin of the natural oils. You’ll find our soaps to lather nicely but not explode in huge bubbles. But why is that? The same oils that create those explosive bubbles can have negative effects to the skin and/or the soap bar over time.
Coconut Oil creates amazing bubbles and it may be exciting and fun to use a soap that uses a high amount of coconut oil… once or twice. But the real test is how does the skin feel after multiple uses? Castor Oil also creates amazing bubbles but can create softer, stickier soap bar over time.
Our soaps will lather with initial larger bubbles and then stabilize to a foamy and creamy texture. If washing for long periods of time, our soaps are known to have stable lather that will reactivate as more water is introduced. You may find that you like to add a bit more water to your washing process to maintain larger bubbles. Using less water in your washing process may create a drier more lotion-like lather.
Soap bars made with different ingredients will lather differently. Those ingredients are milks/cream, vegetable purees, honey/sugar, colorants, etc.. Some additives will subdue the lather some and others will boost the lather.
One of the most significant factors into how the same soap can lather differently is the water used during washing. Well water that is heavy with minerals may cause a decrease in lather but create a more moisturizing effect. City water that is high in chlorine and chemicals can often boost lather but cause a more drying effect. Here at our shop we use distilled water that does not have any mineral or chemical content to make our soap.
Personal factors include skin type (dry or oily), activities (cooking with fats and oils), cleaning (may dry your skin out or leave a film), gardening, the number of times hands have been washed recently, how wet the soap has gotten, etc.. That’s right…YOU affect how our soaps lather for YOU.
The size and age of the soap bars will cause a difference in lather. When you first start using a new soap bar, you may find that the soap doesn’t lather super well. That is because that outside is very dry. Just work with it a bit more to break through that layer. Using a smaller piece of soap can mean that you aren’t getting as much soap transferred to your hands and lather may be lessened.
A super wet soap bar that hasn’t dried much between uses may transfer more soap to your hands causing a much better lather. However, not allowing the soap bar to dry between uses will degrade the soap bar over time. Handcrafted soaps get better with age. The older it gets, the more lather and conditioning you’ll get from it. We recommend that you use our soap bars within a year for the best results from the fragrances and additives.
We use a variety of ingredients in our products. At some point, one ingredient may have been in contact with another ingredient. This would be similar to a warning that says “This product has been processed in a facility that also processes ______”. Please contact us if you have more questions.
We do our best to to accommodate all customers. However, there comes a point where there is not a formulation that will be suitable for all customers. We have made adjustments only to be confronted with an allergy for a new customer. Please understand we do our best but unfortunately, our products may not be suitable for all people.
Our prices depend on the size of the bar, the ingredients, and the fragrances used. A smaller bar with the same ingredients and fragrance oil will cost less.
I’m sorry but we’re not delivering or accepting order pick up. We’ll have to send your order through the mail.
The white stuff is called ‘soda ash’ – Soda ash forms when unsaponified soap reacts with naturally-occurring carbon dioxide in the air. It doesn’t affect the final bars and the soap is safe to use. However, it can obscure more intricate designs.
Most soapers will wash it off because soda ash will dissolve during the first use, but I don’t like the idea of wetting your bar before you get it so the top is left looking more rustic.
