​Located in the heart of Kanab, Utah, just five miles south of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the Best Friends Roadhouse & Mercantile welcomes pets and their people. For visitors to the Sanctuary and nearby national parks, it provides a pet-friendly place to stay.

​The Roadhouse features 40 rooms as well as a variety of dog- and cat-friendly amenities and services, such as built-in cubbies for snuggling, dog washing stations, pet walking and a fenced dog park area with a splash zone. Sit down, relax and shake that beautiful red dust from your shoes after a busy day. The Roadhouse was thoughtfully designed to include every creature comfort. And when we say “creature,” we mean it. Our guest rooms and amenities will bring delight to both our human guests and our furry visitors.

Each room is named for a beloved Best Friends alumni animal, and the foyers are designed to keep pets safely in the room as you come in and out (we’re thinking of you, ninja door dashers). Pets also have their own sleeping nooks or comfy beds (in select rooms)—right next to their people, of course. And if you have a picky cat who doesn’t care to share the room with canine counterparts, you can choose one of our two designated “cats only” rooms.

​We haven’t forgotten about you, humans. From comfy, sweet-dream-inducing bedrooms and warm, welcoming sitting areas to beautifully tiled bathrooms and smooth-sliding barn doors, we designed each and every space with your comfort in mind.

​Coffee is available in the Mercantile building starting at 6:30 a.m. A continental breakfast is provided for lodging guests, also in the Mercantile, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. each morning.

Self-serve pet washing and laundry (and cleaning products) are provided for guest use.

Standard Room

Our standard rooms offer a choice of a king bed or one or two queen beds. Each room features a sitting area separated from the sleeping area by a slatted wall. The tiled bathrooms have an open vanity area, with a sliding barn door for privacy, and a separate toilet and shower.

​Standard accommodations include an armoire desk, wardrobe, television and slide-out bed. For the comfort of our furry guests, each room also features a pet introduction door (or double entrance), and small nooks in the bedside nightstands provide a space for pets to sleep and snuggle.

King Suites

Our suites have a king bed with a built-in doghouse and bedside nooks for dogs and cats to snuggle and sleep, an armoire desk, wardrobe, television and slide-out pet bed. Each suite also features a kitchenette, with seating for six, and a small refrigerator, cooking surface and microwave.

​Every suite is entered via a foyer with a pet introduction door. The tiled bathrooms feature a separate toilet and shower area and single-sink vanity. A sliding barn door separates the bathroom from the living and sleeping area. Adjoining double-queen rooms are available next to the eight king suites, convenient for groups traveling together.

Two-Level Suites

Our spacious two-level suites feature a pet introduction door that leads into a living room sitting area with a pull-out queen sofa sleeper, a half bath and a kitchen with a dining table, six chairs, small refrigerator, cooking surface and microwave.

The second level has twin bunk beds, a king bed, armoire desk and working area, television, slide-out pet bed, and two pet nooks for sleeping and snuggling. The tiled bathroom features a two-sink vanity, separate shower and toilet with a sliding barn door for privacy.

Your Roadhouse stay includes two free all-you-can-eat lunch buffet tickets for Angel Village Café at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Enjoy a variety of delicious vegan dishes while you gaze at breathtaking views.
