Fairyland House provides clean simple casual and residential accommodation with a mix of private and communal spaces, and is sited in an attractive landscaped tropical garden with mature fruit trees, rainforest backdrop, and walking track leading to the Barron River.

Access for Residents and Non-Residents is available to our Garden Studio for workshops, training and a variety of regular classes including Pilates, breath-work, meditation and yoga.
Emphasis on ahimsa leads to harmony, wellbeing, relaxation and self awareness, and we specialise in the preparation and serving of a delicious, wholesome, tropical raw food cuisine.

Whether you are just starting your vegan adventure, seeking a peaceful place to rest and detox, or satisfying your curiosity by immersing yourself in a ‘raw food lifestyle’ experience, you will likely feel at home with us right away. We provide quality raw vegan meals from locally sourced plant foods, usually with a small selection from our garden.
Casual guests have access to a variety of accommodation options for up to 3 people per room, our dining room seats 20 people with gourmet vegan catering available, the Yoga Studio is suitable for 15 mats, there is an external patio, extended verandahs and a variety of garden settings. The Main House has a separate toilet and a shared Bath room with vanity.
Communal facilities include a self-catered raw food vegan kitchen, undercover common areas with casual seating, treatment space for massage and bodywork, a 5 acre rural setting with a mix of outdoor grassed areas and tropical rainforest. The venue is free of smoke and alcohol, drug-free and ‘device-free’ and we do not have on-site facilities for pets. A Daily Program, including yoga, breath work and pilates classes can be accessed, while the local Kuranda swimming pool is within walking distance, as are a variety of forest walking tracks.
Residents and Non-Residents can access the Garden Studio area incorporating the Yoga Studio, a Disabled Bathroom, and the Kitchen Food preparation / Tea Room with a filtered water tap. The venue is serviced by Mains electricity and both bore and tank water supplies, and we also request minimal use of both mobile and fixed digital devices.
Our Yoga Studio has a rain-forest backdrop, a carpet-tile covered concrete floor and offers a comfortable space for up to 15 yoga mats, with an adjacent Disabled Bathroom and Guest Tea Room facility. Yoga and meditation instruction is available to casual guests in addition to our daily program, and we also maintain and can give access to our varied reference library of spiritual and philosophical books and literature, to assist and support self-investigation and self-healing practices on this life journey.
We have a range of private and shared room options. Please check availability prior to booking as some bedrooms have been let longer term residential use.
Our largest and most comfortable room has a rain-forest view with big windows and a sliding door into the tropical garden. Step into peaceful nature and explore the opportunity for spiritual practice, reading and relaxation.
Our comfortable Double Bedroom is located in the east wing of the house, a sliding door provides direct garden and patio access, with stunning rainforest views and is in close proximity to our library, lounge, dining space.
Twin or three-share rooms are available for casual guests. For groups of three or more we also offer a Dormitory Room with large daybed. Please contact us in advance to discuss your room requirements and availability.
Two bedrooms can occupy up to three adults, one a Queen/Single, the other a Double/Single combination. The Shared Room has a Double Bunk currently for two occupants, and the Studio Dormitory has a large daybed; the combination being suitable for a small family.
Most rooms have a beautiful garden view and sliding door for easy access to explore the surrounding rainforest, also ideal for those who wish to allow their children to play in view from the room, as there is a garden space just a step away.
For parents who want their own privacy, we offer the various room combinations at no extra charge per person, to suit your needs if older children want a separate share. Please call in advance to discuss and to ensure room availability.

We specialise in fresh and nutritious, cruelty free plant-based foods sourced locally and hand picked from our garden; and delight in constructing and preparing creative, healthy and vibrant entrees, dips, soups, salads, mains, sweets and nibbles. Discover and sample nature’s dazzling array of colours, aromas, tastes, shapes, and abundance of fresh, fully ripe and exotic tropical produce on offer from the famous Rusty’s Market in Cairns, weekend markets, farms and roadside stalls in the Cairns region and hinterland of the Atherton Tablelands.
In addition to our private Lounge, covered Veranda spaces and garden haven, you can experience the sights and sounds in nature by venturing down to the Barron River, or rambling around the Rain forest tracks and rural landscape.
Relax in our landscaped garden among the wide range of tropical shade and fruit trees, a magical space on the edge of the rainforest. With planting and landscaping since 2014 using vegaculture garden practices, our vegan organic garden is responding with an increasing variety of tasty and nutritious foods, a growing shade canopy and many private grassed spaces. Guests can simply relax and experience clean fresh air and delight in the songbirds and smells of nature’s peaceful and supportive provenance.
