Vegan Accommodation in New York

here’s lots of things to do in the Finger Lakes year round.

We’re a vegan oasis, nestled on 15 acres a few miles northwest of Watkins Glen, NY. The Ginger Cat B&B is the perfect place to stay during your vacation in the Finger Lakes. We are safe (staff has been fully vaccinated), secure, family and pet-friendly.

Our driveway is large enough to accommodate trailers if you’re coming to take part in a race at WGI

Our philosophy is simple: Treat our guests as friends. Provide clean and comfortable accommodations, serve great food and be as helpful as possible.

We don’t have an 1800s farmhouse or lots of antiques, but we do have peace and quiet and did we mention really tasty vegan food?

Enjoy your breakfast on the 4-season porch, watch the magnificent sunsets and stargaze (the Milky Way is directly overhead!) from the large deck or take a walk through the woods that surround the house and gardens.

Despite our rural surroundings, we are less than 15 minutes to Farm Sanctuary and Watkins Glen State Park and 5 minutes to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Corning and Ithaca are within 45 minutes.

We do not allow the cats into the guest quarters to reduce the chance of allergic reactions.

Pet friendly!

Accommodations

You enter through the breezeway into a large 4-season porch. This is where you’ll have your breakfast and it’s a nice place to just relax.

The porch has a sink, fridge, microwave and toaster. There’s an instant hot water dispenser so you can make yourself a cup of tea or soup at any time.

The porch opens onto the large 16’x30′ deck that overlooks some of the flower and vegetable gardens. The porch opens onto the Deck

Want to do some bird watching? Just sit still and soon the birds will arrive at the feeders.

The deck faces west and you will be able to watch the sunset. And on those long, hot summer nights, you’ll be amazed at the stars. We have very little ambient light to block the light of the stars. The Milky Way is right overhead!

Gardens/Grounds

The spring flowers in bloom!

From here, feel free to take a walk through our 15 acres of open and wooded land.

In the early morning or at dusk, if you’re very still, you might catch a glimpse of the deer who visit us most days.

ROOMS

Two spacious bedrooms are available, both with a Queen-sized bed, large closet, central air, ceiling fans and double windows. They share a modern, renovated bath.

Zachary’s Room is painted in soothing earth tones, faces southwest so it catches the beautiful warm glow of the afternoon sunlight. It is the dog-friendly room.

Ariel’s Room is a warm blue and faces east so you can watch the sunrise.

Bathroom

The shared bathroom has been completely redone and is filled with light from the large skylight above the tub/shower.

Parking

There’s ample room for parking along the lengthy driveway and in front of the garages. Even room for a trailer.

TV/Phones/Internet

We do not have TVs or Phones in the rooms, but if you feel like watching TV, just knock on our door and join us. And if you need to make a call, cell phone reception is good.

We are now able to provide fiber optic Internet access. We finally have joined the 21st century!

FYI – you can also get wireless from several places in Watkins Glen.

New this year, we have installed USB charging stations in the guest rooms.
