Sustainable Vegan Clothing

All our products are vegan. Our back patches are made from Jacron – a unique paper material with a leather-like look. It withstands industrial washes, passes needle detectors, does not tear, and most importantly is a vegan, more sustainable alternative to leather or plastic.

Our Story

Superior denim and apparel, carefully sourced and conscientiously made.

In 2006 Monkee Genes was born out of frustration of the denim market, wanting to offer something fresh, vibrant and youthful, with an eco and ethical conscience.

The team behind the brand wanted to prove that there is such a thing as looking fashionable whilst supporting sustainability. Fast forward to 2020 and the brand has grown into an ethical fashion destination, with all of our garments made in GOTS certified factories.

We work hard to protect the people who make our clothes, working closely with our factories to ensure safe working conditions and a decent living wage. Our commitment to ethics paired with innovative fits offers a point of difference to the denim market.

Our name celebrates where we came from as humans, pays tribute to our jeans that have evolved organically and is committed to respecting the planet that we share.

Team MG are a collective of creatives with the shared aim of bringing a sustainable yet affordable denim brand to the market. Our team varies from young to old and consist of people from various backgrounds and countries. We are based in the outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland.

All of products are produced across Turkey, Indonesia, India & Pakistan, where we work closely with our ethical factory partners.

Our jeans are made from recycled fabric from old jeans. The processes used makes the jeans fresh and new, whilst using recycled fibres to reduced waste. Our dyes are non-toxic meaning that they are safe for everyone involved in the supply chain and the end customer.
