Who We Are

Ahimsagram trusts the infinite power of all humans and want it to be expressed fully as we create sustainable and regenerative businesses, with self management practices and healthy interpersonal connections. Ahimsagram was founded by Shammi Nanda, who imagines a world of individual empowerment with collective abundance and wanted to bring together people who had a similar search to to build a collaborative organisation. The place is also a community of sorts where people share their work and lives while they work for a shared purpose.

Ahimsagram is inspired by principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Self Management, Holacracy and sustainable living practices! We work with Holacracy as a Governance method, and as we also hold NVC dear to us, we try our best to look for solutions where everyone’s needs are seen of matter and have a space to be heard.

Our Vision

Ahimsagram trusts the infinite power of all humans and want it to be expressed fully as we create sustainable and regenerative businesses, with self management practices and healthy interpersonal connections.

We are a Self Managed Teal organisation focussing on bringing wellness inspiring foods to people. We are a living laboratory for practicing and developing collaborative governance practices and integrate Holacracy and principles of Nonviolent Communication(NVC) in our day to day practices.

We build creative recipes and offerings that use wholesome, local and largely organic ingredients that nourish our body & are easy for the body to digest.

A community space in Jaipur dreaming of a world of individual empowerment with collective abundance, while also living, learning and sharing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and organising its life with sustainable practices. We are working with Holacracy as a Governance method and as we hold NVC dear to us, we try our best to look for solutions where everyone’s needs matter and have a space to be heard.

AhimsaGram is primarily working in the following three areas:

Holacracy

At AhimsaGram, we began with using Sociocracy is a system of governance an realized that we were constantly seeking consent in almost every decision and that too while doing operations. This was very tiring for us to be hearing objections and then we came across Holacracy which showed us a clear movement strategy with distributed authority which allowed us to work together with self responsibility.

We now use Holacracy actively. We believe in the spirit of experimentation and are putting our own self at stake in this experiment. Its an evolving organization which is doing a unique experiment in India. The place is built with the efforts of all those who have been with us since its inception.

As a living laboratory we go through challenges and celebrations as we want to see if human beings can create and run effective systems to work together for a shared purpose with self responsibility. Now we are more and more convinced with the tools offered and are looking forward to see what emerges from it.

Nonviolent Communication (NVC)

Nonviolent Communication is a communication process developed by Marshall Rosenberg in 1960s. It is based on the idea that all human beings have the capacity for compassion and only resort to violence or behavior that harms others when they are not able to find ways to meet their needs. It’s a way of communication which shows us how to express honestly while holding care for others. NVC empowers us to connect deeply with others and to form more compassionate relationships.

Sustainable Living
Restorative Circles

Ahimsagram is organizing an organic kitchen gardening experience in their premise. The experience of four hours includes: observing, walking, talking and working in and around garden. The idea is to help you embark on understanding ways for growing your food at your place and decrease the dependency on chemically grown vegetables in the future.
