Vegan Boutique Inn
The Gray Barn is an award-winning, vegan inn that offers clean and modern accommodations in five bedrooms, each with its own en suite bathroom and private terrace. A private tour of Woodstock Sanctuary is offered weekly and guests also have access to the Sanctuary’s Saturday public tours during the open season. Every stay at The Gray Barn supports 400 rescued farmed animal residents who call Woodstock Farm Sanctuary home.
Stays at The Gray Barn are a benefit to current members of Woodstock Farm Sanctuary.
Each beautifully designed bedroom includes an en suite bathroom and private terrace overlooking a picturesque landscape. Our common rooms are flooded with natural light, creating a peaceful and intimate space for guests to lounge and dine. A delicious vegan breakfast made with local seasonal ingredients is prepared each morning for guests to indulge before exploring the Sanctuary’s 150 acres on a tour or enjoying the countless outdoor and cultural activities the region has to offer.
Each of the five bedrooms are named after rescued residents who have gotten the chance to call Woodstock Farm Sanctuary home. We’re so excited for you to learn their stories.
While we love hosting families, The Gray Barn requires all guests be 12+ older. For questions regarding age policy, please email info@thegraybarn.org

Breakfast will continue to be served in our kitchen and guests are welcome to enjoy the meal in any of the dining or lounge areas inside the common room or outside on the deck/garden. Guests are also welcome to eat in their room for extra safety and distance.
When booking individual room stays, The Gray Barn welcomes families with children over the age of 12 years old. However, children of all ages are welcome when you book the entire inn for a full rental stay. For questions regarding our child policy please contact info@thegraybarn.org.
For the comfort and safety of our guests and rescued animals, no companion animals except service animals are allowed on Woodstock Farm Sanctuary property. If you plan to bring a service animal, please contact The Gray Barn office info@thegraybarn.org.
We are a 100% vegan organization. Out of respect for our rescued animal residents please do not bring any non-vegan food into your room or on the property. If you have any questions about this, please email info@thegraybarn.org and we will be more than happy to help.
The Gray Barn is accessed through an electronic keypad. The codes needed to enter both the main entrance and your private room will be sent to you via email 48 hours before your stay. Please refer to your email if you have any questions.
You may check in any time after 3 PM on the date of your reservation. Due to our enhanced cleaning schedule, we will not be able to accommodate early check-in requests.
Please check out by 11 AM on the day your reservation ends so that the rooms may be changed and cleaned.
After check in time, you’re welcome to enjoy the common area and kitchen. Please follow posted signs – guests are welcome to store items in the fridge, use the microwave and any of the plates and cups on the shelves. Please do not use the oven or stovetop – they are reserved for staff. Please do not remove or eat any food/drink from the fridge that you did not bring with you.
As a guest of The Gray Barn, you have unlimited access to the Sanctuary’s grounds throughout your stay. Though you are not allowed to open gates or enter any enclosure without a staff member, many of the residents will greet you at the fence for scratches and love.
Breakfast is included with individual room rentals. Breakfast is prepared fresh each morning and will be available from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM. Please make us aware of any allergies before your stay. Our kitchen is always 100% vegan, but we do use nuts and gluten in our kitchen and there may be cross-contamination.
For your comfort and that of other guests, we have a quiet period in the common and shared spaces between 10 PM and 8 AM each day.
Full rentals of the entire inn’s space are available to book. Please visit the full rental page for more info and to reserve your preferred dates.
Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the inn, including the deck and terraces; guests who violate the smoking policy will be assessed a $500 cleaning fee. If you wish to smoke, please do so at least 50 feet from any building entrances or exits, and please dispose of cigarette butts or trash safely in the proper receptacle.
Please do not open gates or enter any enclosures/pastures. You’ll have lots of time to interact with the residents inside their enclosures during the private tour or public tours guided by a staff person. Remember to always wear your Gray Barn Guest lanyard while walking around the property.
For their safety, please never feed any animals or carry glasses or ceramic cups near their enclosures.
Please also be mindful that during the day and into the evening hours, our caregivers are helping our residents and are usually too busy with animal care to stop and answer questions. We’ll be happy to answer any questions and share animal stories during your guided tour.
