Therapy is YOUR Solution
Working with a mental health professional creates a safe, designated, confidential space in your week for you to explore the right solutions to these problems.
In a short amount of time, you’ll understand your struggles with more clarity AND you’ll acquire practical tools to use to turn struggles into LIFE BALANCE.
I’m Rima Danielle Jomaa and I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist from California. I teach what I know works because I implement the tools personally or they’ve been tested for years with the clients I’ve worked with. I know how to deliver them to you efficiently & to meet YOU where you’re at in your process – not where I think you should be. I live in pursuit of my dreams and I help others heal from their past so they can do the same.
I get what it means to struggle, to sacrifice, and to live with courage. I know what it takes to live an authentic and honest life – and it’s not easy. I actively set boundaries and communicate regularly with those around me. I’ve worked hard on my own personal journey (and still do!) to understand, learn and change my existence to a way that best suits me. I help my clients learn to do the same in their lives in a way that is respectful and enjoyable.
My clients enjoy the warm rapport they have with me. I approach each client from a unique perspective as each client is unique. I collaborate with them to understand their needs and goals, and from there I create a treatment plan that is special for them. I believe that each client has a story that can be retold in a new way, and a story that is still being written, so the middle and ending can change as the client transforms.
I help clients tap into their own power and become their best versions of themselves. I teach them about their strengths, especially the ones they think are weaknesses (like being overly sensitive, for example). I help clients build community and find depth, meaning and purpose in their lives.
Most clients are either out-of-pocket or they use their insurance. I accept Optum, Aetna & Cigna, including UnitedHealthcare, Oxford Health Plans, UMR, Oscar, UHC Student Resources, AllSavers UHC, Harvard Pilgrim, and Trustmark Health Benefits – Cigna.
The approaches I use are a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, family systems, humanistic & narrative theories, hypnotherapy, mindfulness techniques, positive psychology, Gottman approaches for relationship issues, as well as various techniques from other theories (as appropriate for the client), like shadow work, inner child work, forgiveness work, brain training and affirmations (to restructure the neuroplasticity of the brain), gratitude and mindfulness practices, to name a few.
As far as relationships go, I study and use Dr. Gottman’s methods and I am a certified Gottman Leader. He is often called the “love doctor” because of his decades of extensive research on love & relationships.
I’ve been an ethical vegan for 13 years. I understand on a deep level the plight of vegans and animal activists and would be honored to work with anyone on this path.
Together, my clients and I create magic!
