White Rabbit Skincare is a luxurious, cruelty free, vegan- friendly skincare range that is hand crafted in Scotland.
We make all our products exclusively by hand in small batches to ensure freshness and quality, harnessing the therapeutic aspect of essential oils, base oils, butters and waxes, to help to soothe and nourish your skin.
We maintain the highest ethical standards across every aspect of our business and have sourced packaging that is fully recyclable (if not already recycled) to minimise the impact on the environment.
White Rabbit Skincare’s success is built on both strong understanding of customer needs, and a desire to do better by the environment. The company is also very proud to be PETA endorsed, approved by Naturewatch and most recently, certified by The Vegan Society.
Soothingly nourishing hand produced Vegan Skincare created from an abundance of vital botanicals and therapeutic essential oils, base oils, butters and waxes to effectively transform and leave every skin type glowing.
Safe to be absorbed into your body, natures exhilarating aromatics ooze from vitamin-packed calming, opulent products to condition your skin, improve elasticity and promote cell renewal.
I started White Rabbit Skincare in April 2014 after being diagnosed with the skin condition psoriasis.
I had researched into traditional treatments for such skin conditions, and was horrified to discover that not only does your skin absorb quite a considerable amount of what you put onto it into your blood stream but the majority of products on the market were full of irritants and synthetic ingredients.
So I set out to create a range of vegan skincare products that not only I could trust, but others could too, and help you feel confident in your own skin again.
Our products are still carefully crafted by hand by our skilled team to ensure the highest quality. All our products are natural skincare products, we never include animal-derived ingredients (such as beeswax), Parabens, SLS, Silicones, Mineral oils or derivatives of petrochemicals, artificial fragrances, artificial colours, or anything else confusing and synthetic.
We are incredibly proud to be an eco-friendly, sustainable and plastic-minimal company.
Here’s what we do within White Rabbit Skincare to help our planet:
Ours are made from potato starch, and can either be dissolved under running water, or simply popped in your general waste bin, food bin or compost and they will dissolve in a matter of days.
For the rest of our postage packaging, we use cardboard boxes (printed with vegan ink), tissue paper and sealed with paper tape.
Our packaging is a mixture of aluminium, bamboo (one of the fastest growing and most sustainable natural materials on the planet) and glass. Plastic atomiser and pump lids are available, but you can substitute these for aluminium screw caps if you’d rather.
We have been certified as ‘Zero Plastic Inside’ by Beat the Microbead
We are incredibly excited to have partnered with fellow Scottish company Reath to roll out in May 2021 a brand new packaging reuse/recycle initiative which involves the use of QR codes.
Through this scheme we will be able to scan and trace the entire lifecycle of a piece of packaging, which will not only provide real quantitative data, but will enable us to clean and reuse much of the packaging too, which in turn will of course help the planet by reducing our carbon footprint and any packaging going to recycling.
Regardless of whether your packaging has a QR code or not (it might take us a wee while to get all packaging covered!) you can return your empty jars and bottles to us and we will refund you the cost of standard packaging AND give you 50p per full sized item in return*
(*if you have ordered through our website we will refund you directly, but if it’s through one of our stockists we will give you a discount code to the equivalent value)
We are proudly palm oil free, as certified by the Orangutan Alliance. We are also certified by:
Cruelty Free International | The Vegan Society | PETA | Naturewatch | Made in Britain
We buy from only UK-based suppliers, and try to buy organic ingredients where possible.
Our website is hosted by Shopify, and we are proudly working with them to off set our carbon footprint and support forest protection initiatives. We started the scheme in early May 2021, and plan to send out an update in our newsletter every month updating you with our emissions and how we’ve contributed to the carbon offset strategy.
