About

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT# 98899, and obtained my Master of Arts degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University. I have experience working with youth ages 2 to 18, adults and families and have worked in residential, community, drug and alcohol treatment and private practice settings.

​I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), certified in Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), am a National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD) Family Connections leader and Certified Sibshops facilitator.

​I combine my love of psychology with my love and respect for horses and passionately believe in, and have witnessed, the healing power of horses in clients’ lives. Extensive training allows me and my equine partners to provide supportive services to youth, adults and organizations to address a variety of issues. I am certified by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). I am also certified in Horse Inspired Psychotherapy and Horse Inspired Growth and Healing (HIP/HIGH).

Services

I offer the following services:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) Therapy, an evidence-based psychotherapy for PTSD endorsed by The American Psychological Association, The American Psychiatric Association and The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies 1998 and 2008, amongst others. EMDR is recommended as an effective treatment for trauma in the Practice Guidelines of the World Health Organization, the American Psychiatric Association and the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs and is empirically validated in over 24 randomized studies.

​I am extensively trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), an evidence-based empirically validated treatment that includes skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to treat emotion dysregulation and enhance daily functioning.

​I am trained in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, an evidence based treatment for youth impacted by trauma and their families and caregivers and MAP (Managing and Adapting Practice) which utilizes the most common components of evidence-based practices to improve the lives of youth and their families.

I am also a Certified Sibshops Facilitator. Sibshops are workshops for siblings of children with special needs.

I am certified in EAP (Equine-assisted psychotherapy) & EAL (Equine-assisted learning) by EAGALA. EAP and EAL are evidence-driven, experiential, solution-oriented and client-centered approachs by which clients project and analyze their situations, make connections, and find their own solutions.

​I offer groups and equine-assisted workshops on various topics such as grief, self-care, team-building and goal setting and achievement.

How This Works

Individual sessions are 45 minutes in length

Groups and workshops are individually priced and vary in length.

​Rates are based on the services provided.

A good faith estimate of expected charges will be provided either upon request or at the time a service is scheduled.

Insurance is not accepted. I will provide a “superbill” which may be submitted to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
