Saving Grace Animal Sanctuary in Califoria

Our Mission

SavingGrace_082920 (333)_Edit.jpg

To provide sanctuary for abused, neglected, or unwanted farm animals who would otherwise become food or be euthanized.

Saving Grace Animal Sanctuary is a 2.5-acre animal paradise nestled in the beautiful hills of Acton, California, just 45 minutes north of Hollywood. It was founded in 2011 for the purpose of giving animals who faced cruelty and neglect a loving home to share their stories.

Saving Grace was created by Erich and Kathy Lange with a single goal in mind: to save animals in memory of Grace, a cow that Kathy fell in love with years before

Saving Grace is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that operates on the belief that every life is valuable, and that no animal should be used, abused, or neglected in the name of business. The residents of the sanctuary come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but they all share a common theme: each animal would have faced abuse, neglect, or death had they not found a home here. From slaughterhouses and cattle auctions to show animals, and abused or neglected pets, each animal’s background tells a story of how compassion wins out over cruelty.

As Saving Grace Animal Sanctuary has grown, the animals have taken on the role of ambassadors to the human visitors that come to meet them. Though no one on the sanctuary needs to fear a life of neglect or abuse, there are thousands of other animals that will not be so lucky. The residents of Saving Grace share their stories in the hopes that visitors might realize that all animal lives are worthy of being saved.

Roll up your sleeves, the animals need you!

Volunteering is a wonderful way to be energized by goodness!

Saving Grace relies on the generosity of volunteers in order to make sure that each project gets completed. Feed bags need to be filled, fences need to be built, and animals need to be played with! We’re even looking for a few dedicated individuals to help us run fundraising events. No job is too big or too small here at Saving Grace!

If you’re interested in spending some time helping animals in need, then we’d love to have you. We are open 7 days a week, but we ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you plan on coming to help (48 hours if your group is larger than 4 people).

Please let us know in advance if anyone in your party needs special accommodations or have any illnesses, injuries or allergies that might affect outdoor work.
