Teaching People Kindness and Compassion to Animals, Each Other and our Planet.
It’s official—we’ve moved to our forever home in Nashville! Thank you so much for supporting, donating, fundraising and praying to get us there. We are eternally grateful for the outpouring of love that made this happen. The Gentle Barn is ready to serve Middle Tennessee at our new forever home just outside Nashville. The new location will allow us to save more animals, reach a larger community, heal more children, and open many more hearts.
But we still need your support! Now that we have purchased the property, brought the animals home, and begun our programs, we still have things that we need to do to make it a perfect sanctuary. We still have fences to build, and barns to repair and winterize. We need your help. Thank you for helping us make The Gentle Barn Nashville Dudley’s perfect legacy!
In 2015, The Gentle Barn was contacted by a friend of a cattle rancher, in Nashville, about a young cow, who had lost a hoof and was in need of help. The Gentle Barn stepped in and orchestrated the very complicated recovery of Dudley, who touched many lives. Through several surgeries, months of hospitalization and rehabilitation, and the successful fitting of a prosthetic foot, the world fell in love with Dudley.
Dudley inspired the creation of The Gentle Barn Tennessee, which began on a leased 12 acres in Knoxville. When Dudley came home to The Gentle Barn, he mesmerized the world with his joyfulness, playfulness, and sense of humor. During his time with us, Dudley worked with children in foster care, adult amputees, children with physical challenges, and war veterans. When Dudley passed away, we received thousands of letters from people all over the world who were inspired by Dudley. Dudley gave people strength to overcome illnesses, adversity, depression, drug addiction, and suicide. Because of Dudley, millions of people learned to love animals more, to see their intelligence, and make more gentle choices to help them.
Thank you so much for your interest in supporting The Gentle Barn’s new Nashville property.
Please see the list and the corresponding numbered map of the new property, highlighting the opportunities for giving and the corresponding locations and dollar amounts. Please note that benches and tables* will be available for sponsorship and do not appear on the map. The benches and tables with donor plaques will be placed around the lake and throughout the property, but the exact locations have yet to be determined.
Thanks again for your kind consideration of a donation to The Gentle Barn!
