A safe haven to rescued farm animals in need of love and compassion
Located in Marengo, Iowa; Iowa Farm Sanctuary is Iowa’s only 501(c)(3) non-profit vegan farm animal sanctuary.
“At Iowa Farm Sanctuary, we will provide a safe haven to rescued farm animals in need of love and compassion while providing humans the opportunity to experience the unique sentience and intelligence found within these animals.”
Join us every Sunday starting May 13 until fall for Open Barn Days from Noon-3pm.
Admission is a minimum donation of $10/adult and $5/kiddos.
We invite you to bring any treats (or snag some from our Garden for Good) for our rescued residents as well as vegan snacks and lunch for yourself!
Bring a book and borrow a book from our Little Compassionate Library.
(Pro tip: wear shoes you don’t mind getting dirty as it is a working farm!)
Private tours are the most incredible way to visit the sanctuary.
You have no time constraints and you are able to mingle and learn in depth with our rescued residents.
Much different than Open Barn Days where all gates remain shut.
We ask for a minimum donation of $200 for a private tour and can accommodate up to 10 people.
Tours can be booked directly with our founders by emailing tours@iowafarmsanctuary.org
Here at Iowa Farm Sanctuary, we rely solely on donations from people like yourself. All donations we receive are going directly to the animals and provides them with food, shelter, healthcare and much more. Without the kindness of giving donors, we would not be able to provide the animals of Iowa Farm Sanctuary from an otherwise early or unnecessary death.
Every little bit counts, even a donation of just $5 goes a long way! Visit our PAYPAL GIVING PAGE and make a donation through PayPal using a credit card, debit card, or e-check. A nice thing is you don’t have to have a PayPal account to make a donation! You may also write a personal check to Iowa Farm Sanctuary and send it to 2485 Hwy 6 Trl, Marengo, Iowa 52301

Sponsoring a rescued farm animal resident at Iowa Farm Sanctuary means you will directly contribute to their care and well-being. Your sponsorship donations help cover the monthly costs for animals living at the sanctuary, including veterinary care, food, bedding, and enrichment.
With your yearly sponsorship (payments recurring monthly) you will receive quarterly updates and pictures of your resident by email, your name listed as a sponsor on the IFS website, plus a plaque at the sanctuary acknowledging your sponsorship. A free pass for all Open Barn Days (usually occurring on Sundays from May – October each year) is included. For your convenience, this sponsorship option will automatically renew each year until you choose to discontinue sponsor support.
With your one month sponsorship you will receive an email with pictures and a certificate of sponsorship as well as a coupon for one free Open Barn Day to be redeemed upon arrival. This option makes a wonderful gift for loved ones.
To sponsor a resident for a month or a year, visit their profile to learn more about them and select a sponsorship option. Month sponsors receive a digital download with a special certificate and a pass to an upcoming Sanctuary Stroll. Yearly sponsors receive quarterly updates and exclusive photos by email, a plaque on the visitor center wall, their name on the IFS website, and a pass for all Sanctuary Strolls during their sponsorship! Sponsorships make wonderful gifts for family and friends, and are a great way to support our rescued residents.
TO BRING ANIMAL LIBERATION, ACTIVISM, AND AWARENESS TO THE PLACE IT IS NEEDED MOST: IOWA, THE EPICENTER OF MODERN ANIMAL AGRICULTURE.
Iowa Farm Sanctuary is Infiltrating the Epicenter of modern animal agriculture via rescues, education, and activism, but… we can’t do it without you!
Partnering with the Iowa DOT and EMA, Iowa Farm Sanctuary will be the first call when a disaster strikes that involves farm animals. Our certified team of large animal rescuers will be the boots on the ground for small scale disasters, including freeway accidents involving farm animals, to massive natural disasters such as tornadoes or flooding.
With proper funding, Iowa Farm Sanctuary will open the doors to an education center like no other in Iowa; one that sheds light on some of the “standard practices” found within Iowa’s modern factory farms.
Iowa Farm Sanctuary is bringing activism to the place it’s needed most: IOWA, of course! Being the epicenter of modern animal agriculture means we’ve got the most work to do. We will work towards bringing an animal rights conference, march for animals, and street activism to Iowa all while challenging the laws that keep us fighting!
