The animals whose abuse is most often reported are dogs, cats, horses and livestock. Based on the 1,423 U.S. cruelty cases on pet-abuse.com’s 2011 digest in which species of the victim was specified.

Undercover investigations have revealed that animal abuse abounds in the factory farm industry. But because of the weak protections afforded to livestock under state cruelty laws, only the most shocking cases are reported, and few are ever prosecuted. Promised Land respects every resident as a unique individual and educates the public about kind and compassionate lifestyle choices.

A passion project a lifetime in the making, Promised Land Animal Sanctuary was founded by Kat Krylov and opened its gates in November 2017, as a safe haven and refuge for animals who have been neglected, abused, abandoned or forgotten. We care for horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, goats, sheep, dogs and cats. Sometimes other animals find their way to our farm. All our farm friends receive lifelong care and shelter. While we do adopt some animals to appropriate homes, we also provide a permanent home for those who need it.
