The English Mineral Makeup Company was founded on the beliefs that you and your skin deserve the very best.

We’ve brought together a gorgeous range of chemical free, multi award winning mineral cosmetics to enhance naturally, without any of the harsh ingredients that are often found in similar products.

The brainchild of mother and daughter duo, Jeanette and Grace Burrows, The English Mineral Makeup Company combines the quality of luxury cosmetics with the very best 100% natural mineral ingredients, to give a healthy, glowing and flawless finish with every use.

Why was The English Mineral Makeup Company started?

Jeanette and Grace needed high quality make-up that was enjoyable to use. They wanted something good enough to be traceless on older skin, softening fine lines, as well as gentle enough for young and problem skin.

Jeanette has a long background of experience in hair and beauty, heavily involved with naturally derived and organic colour systems and hair care. She desired a makeup that would blend away age-spots conceal her rosacea and thread veins and at the same time not cake or show up fine lines, with a trace less finish.

While Grace has a keen interest in sustainability and natural skincare. She absolutely loves makeup and yet was unable to source that something ‘special ‘that would give her the durable cover she craved without caking, streaking, blocking pores or aggravating… they couldn’t find it and that’s how EMM was founded!

Together, we created a beautiful brand that has no compromise for quality or effectiveness, and is a genuinely original, clever and versatile makeup.

The ingredients we use are all certified in compliance with the EU Cosmetic Safety Directive 76/768 and are compliant with the EU Directive 1223/2009 that came into force in July 2013 and notified on the EU Cosmetic Products Notification Portal. We never use nano particles! We are particularly careful that all our minerals are responsibly sourced and we ensure that the manufacturers we use also source responsibly.

The Small Print First:

We believe safety should not be sacrificed for beauty. We are very proud of the ingredients that we select to include in our formulations – so we have nothing to hide when it comes to listing our ingredients – right here on our website!…. We do not use nano-ingredients in our products. Our plastics, paper and bamboo are all sourced from recycled or sustainable companies.

We always source free from Child labour, Poor working conditions and Animal testing.

We are Vegan, Cruelty free, Chemical, Parabens fragrance free and lots more. we are very proud of our integrity.

We hold the Vegan Society trademark

Also our plastics are made from recycled product where possible and we offer a sustainable refills option for all of our loose minerals.

Fully licensed Vegan makeup. Specially created to be safe to use with invasive skin treatments such as microdermabrasion, skin peels and CST, semi and permenant makeup.

We also have a great sustainable refill option – minimal space and great to retail.

We purchase the absolute best quality minerals available. There are two major factors that determines the quality of mineral makeup:

1. The quality of raw minerals – raw mineral colours are available in the different grades by the manufacturers around the world, depending on the level of purity. Ours are the best you can get.

2. The additives – Some mineral makeups offered in the market contain additional ingredients that can be skin irritants, such as bismuth oxychloride, talc, fillers, etc and they are still advertised as “Mineral Makeup”! Fish scales are also commonly used as a cheap way to add glimmer- YUK!

At English Mineral Makeup, we do NOT compromise the integrity and quality of our product – we source the highest grade of pure & natural minerals available in the market. Also, our products are free from additives that can cause cause skin irritation and allergies such as parabens, mineral oil, perfumes, fragrances, dyes, bismuth oxychloride, talc, etc. We never use nano particles.
