Our Mission

The mission of Green Acres Farm Sanctuary is the prevention of cruelty to, and the commercialization of animals, especially farmed animals. We put this mission into action by providing shelter, care and board to abused, abandoned, and unwanted farm animals. We look to inspire change through creating a place where members of the public can have positive interaction with farm animals by providing for their care and the animals can, in turn, educate them about the abusive use of farmed animals.

As an all-volunteer organization we depend on your help. Volunteers clean barns, coops and pastures, help with chores around the farm and get to socialize with the animals.

For the safety of all animals please leave your furry friends at home, and out of respect to the animals any food brought to the sanctuary must be vegan. We will provide water and a small snack.

In the six years since Green Acres Farm Sanctuary began we have rescued and fostered over 700 animals. We are an all volunteer 501(3)(c) non-profit that operates on donations and receives no state or federal funding. Programs

Safe At Home

“Safe at Home” is a GreenAcres Farm Sanctuary outreach program that provides one-time emergency medical, feed, and shelter assistance for animals in need, especially farm animals, so that their families can keep these companion animals with them safe at home. In 2020, this program provided 3,030 lbs of food and paid $2,472.15 in medical bills. Please contact us if you need help or make a donation to help others.

Fostering

Green Acres Farm Sanctuary, working with humane societies, shelters, and rescues, provides foster care for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens until they are able to be placed for adoption. During Green Acres Farm Sanctuary’s first ten years we have provided foster care for over 435 animals.

Youth & Community Outreach

Green Acres Farm Sanctuary offers volunteer and educational opportunities for schools and youth groups. Young people learn compassion by being of service to, and visiting with, farm animals. We have welcomed classrooms from pre-K through high school, and a variety of youth organizations.

Educational Tours

Attendees will meet our resident animals and learn their stories through a guided tour around the Sanctuary. Afterward, samples of some of our favorite vegan products will be provided. This popular event is a great way to learn more about Green Acres, our mission, and living a more compassionate life. Space is limited and reservations are required. Educational Tours are on hold due to Covid-19

Volunteer

The chores at Green Acres Farm Sanctuary are many and we can use your help. Your time is one of the most valuable things you can give. At biweekly work parties volunteers clean the barns, coops and pastures, scrub feeders and water containers, groom and socialize animals and do general farm maintenance. Check our calendar for up coming work parties.
